“What…what happened to me?” Aurelia asked when she finally came to. She looked down to find herself completely naked, on her back, and lying full length on the sofa now. Her legs were elevated eight inches on a pillow to help the blood flow back to her brain. A cool compress was on her forehead.
Baron held one of Aurelia’s wrists, measuring her pulse rate from the artery on the thumb side. He looked like a regular medical doctor right now instead of a doctor of pathology. All he had to do was complete another residency and he could very well be a regular medical doctor.
“What happened to me, baby?” Aurelia reiterated, wondering if she should be concerned. He was extremely quiet right now. Plus, she’d never fainted during sex before.
Sex? That wasn’t sex. That was just foreplay. What kind of man made a woman faint during foreplay?
“You fainted while having one whopper of an orgasm,” Baron replied after silently checking her pulse for the required full fifteen seconds. “By the way, are you diabetic like your brother?”
“No. Fortunately, that ailment skipped me for some reason.”
“Good. Now when was the last time you ate?” Baron asked, having noticed how often her stomach growled while she was out for that excruciatingly long minute. He’d never done so much praying in his life. Had it not been for his medical training, which had kicked in at just the right moment, he would have called 911.
Aurelia’s eyes bucked as she recalled that her last meal had been twenty-four hours ago. “Yesterday around this time,” she confessed with a sheepish grin.
“Yesterday?!”
“Yes.” She winced at his loud tone. “I was so worried about
“You didn’t have any snacks at work? Not even a granola bar?”
“Nothing. All I’ve had in the last twenty-four hours is juice and water.”
Baron shook his head with disapproval. “You have to take better care of yourself, Aurelia. Do you have any soup in the cupboard?”
“I have Ramen noodles. With enough water, they make a great soup.”
“That’ll work. I’ll be right back.” Baron got up and headed for her kitchen.
“But you don’t know where everything is.” Aurelia removed the wet compress from her forehead and moved to sit up.
“Don’t you dare get up from that couch, young lady!” Baron ordered, swinging around to face her upon hearing too much movement from the sofa. “Just tell me what I need to do from there.”
“Yes, sir.” She chuckled, settling back down again and reapplying the compress. It felt so good to be taken care of for a change. “By the way, why am I naked? Before I passed out, I still had on clothes, barely, but nevertheless still clothed.”
Baron laughed. “I had to take those tight clothes off you just to make sure you could breathe with ease. If you tell me where your nightgowns or pajamas are, I’ll get something looser for you to wear.”
Aurelia promptly gave him the information he requested. Soon she was in a comfortable pair of black cotton pajamas.
They continued to talk as Baron prepared the makeshift soup in her small kitchen. One of the things they talked about was her new perfume.

Yikes. What a way to wake up. Guess he forgot about his own need after she fainted. Better for him to got fullful that need when they can be together. Better keep her talking, Baron, so you don't get into the same trouble that you did before.
ReplyDeleteJessie: That's exactly what happened - Baron forgot about his own need and tended to her. Cain would have kept trying to have sex with her, thinking that her fainting was confirmation of how macho he was.
