The Professor - Ch. 15.1

When the jazz concert was over, Aurelia quickly headed for the parking lot. She didn’t want to take the risk of running into Baron and Jordin. She also didn’t want to linger around and be accosted by any more men. She’d barely been able to enjoy tonight’s show for all the male attention she received.

Although Aurelia had come with the partial intention of catching the eye of another rich man, once she got that attention from several rich men, she realized she didn’t want it. Man after man just didn’t measure up to what she really wanted. Who she really wanted.

After seeing who she wanted with someone else again, the same someone else as yesterday, Aurelia had to fight to enjoy her night out. Claude’s mother, who had been given her extra concert ticket, helped with Aurelia’s enjoyment by engaging her in animated conversation during intermissions and by helping her to consume the jazzy basket an admirer had left behind.

Keeping her gaze straight ahead or shutting her eyes altogether throughout the concert helped Aurelia to enjoy tonight’s music. She had enough sense than to torment herself with frequent glances at Baron. It was going to be hard enough looking at him in class five days a week now that she knew he was seeing someone else.

I can’t wait for this semester to be over, Aurelia thought, wishing a quick end to her time in Baron’s class for a different reason now.

  1. Sorry about the short posts today. I'm only doing that to get the next chapter to you as soon I finish with edits.

More to come (after more editing, of course)...
